During the expansion of the Kansas City Museum into Science City at Union Station, Ucko managed the complete range of matters that accompany the implementation of a vision into a $250+ million project. This transformation of a small institution into one ten times larger involved complex issues of governance, public and private funding, historic preservation, community-building, organization, and many others over the course of a decade-long process.

In addition, Ucko successfully implemented a large number of major exhibits and programs from inception through operation in his senior management roles at the California Museum of Science & Industry (California Science Center) and Chicago's Museum of Science & Industry.
