Let Museums+more help you engage audiences through regional
history experiences.
As President of the Kansas City Museum for more than
a decade, Ucko led many efforts to present regional
history through exhibits and programs. (The Museum has
three-dimensional collections with strengths in textiles,
Plains Indians, carriages, dolls, and other forms of
material culture, in addition to an extensive archives.)
As part of creating Science City at Union Station, he
headed development of Union Station tours guided by
costumed historic role-players as well as the theater
production "Union Station Stories."
Ucko served on the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation's
Manhattan Project Task Force. He has received grants
from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the
Illinois Humanities Council for projects such as "Architecture
and the City," a major exhibition on the impact of the
built environment. Ucko served as Vice President of
the Greater Kansas City Heritage League.
